A few words...

birthright n. A right, possession, or privilege that is one's due by birth.

right adj. In accordance with fact, reason, or truth; Fitting, proper, or appropriate; Most favorable, desirable, or convenient; In good mental or physical health or order.

rite n. A ceremonial act or series of acts.

write v. To compose and set down, especially in literary or musical form; To express in writing; To communicate.

The sounds [rt] can mean many different things and combined with the word birth, you find the multi-faceted subject of our blog.
  • birthright - A birthright of baby girls is the privilege to carry and bear children. Women's bodies are designed to birth babies, not to be delivered of them. How can we reclaim our birthright, as women? As parents? As medical practitioners? As concerned members of society, male or female?

  • birth right - Is there a right way to birth? What is right for YOU? What are your rights as a birthing woman?

  • birth rite - What are the rituals and traditions of birthing in our culture? What rituals and traditions would we like to introduce? or to re-introduce? How is birth in and of itself a rite?
